On the Harbor side, The Balboa Pavilion, Newport Beach’s most famous landmark dating back to 1905, anchors The Fun Zone where you can ride the Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, bumper cars and play arcade games. Rent sailboats, electric boats, paddle boats, kayaks, and jet skis. Embark on a narrated historical harbor cruise, take a romantic gondola cruise, or enjoy the sunset aboard a dinner cruise. Ride the Balboa Ferry across scenic Newport Bay to Balboa Island. Or sail away aboard the Catalina Flyer to Catalina Island.
Kayak, walk, or bike the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve, Southern California’s largest estuary - a saltwater marsh ecosystem nearly three-and-a-half miles long and a half mile wide where thousands of migratory birds find refuge. Nature enthusiasts will also enjoy hiking, biking, and discovering the tide pools of Crystal Cove State Beach.
